A-12 “Uragan” – Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the vertical take-off and landing (VTOL), that was created by Kharkov Design Bureau “Vzlet” of “Naukovo-promyslovi systemy” Ltd.[1-5]

Flight tests of the “Uragan” UAV are underway since 2005. The device has a secure lift fan, which allows to operate safely in confined areas of the city, woods or mountains. UAV takes off as a helicopter and lands with the help of a parachute. Equipment of A-12 can be selected according to Customer requirements, including system of acquisition (camcorder or other means) and transmission of information. The displaying of UAV’s position data is provided by ground control stations monitor and control system in real-time using satellite navigation.[3-5][11-8][13]

Alleged using area of the A-12 “Uragan” UAV: anti-terrorism operations of the special units (in cities, forests or mountains); environmental monitoring; exploration the fields of accidents and disasters; searching and binding the detected objects at the terrain map; patrolling the oil and gas pipelines; monitoring the protected sites; the information support of the field units operations at the “platoon – company – battalion” team; protection of the state border.[3-5][8-11][13]
